Pro Mente ooe

Pro mente Upper Austria, Society for mental and social health, is one of the 24 non-profit organization which operate under Pro Mente Austria umbrella organization. Their goal is to improve the position of people with psychological or psycho-social disabilities (PwPD) in society and to support their social environment. Pro Mente’s mission goes along compliance with human rights and in particular the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities and the European Mental Health Pact. That is why Pro Mente promotes and demands the inclusion and participation of all people impartially and non-denominationally and welcome their diversity. Pro Mente is also committed to the quality of the services offered in Austria, research and teaching as well as the application of innovative approach to reach their goals. The activities of Pro Mente Upper Austria include counselling both for persons with mental health and social problems and also for their relatives. In addition, a number of different centres in Upper Austria provide further assistance with regard to housing, work and spare time as well as substance abuse. A central aim is to facilitate the integration into local communities of PwPD. So the focus is placed on the provision of services in or near the clients’ hometowns.
